How bidding works
Five steps from signing up to driving away. No deposits to browse, no surprises at the end, and an auction clock that cannot be gamed.
Register and get verified
Create an account with your name, mobile number and ID details. Verification usually takes under an hour on business days. It is free, and it is a once-off — once you are verified you can bid on any lot.
Find your vehicle
Every lot lists mileage, service history, condition grade and a full spec sheet. Filter by make, price or closing time. Add anything you like to your watchlist and we will remind you before it closes.
Bid — or set a maximum
Bid manually, or name the most you are willing to pay and let the system bid for you. Proxy bidding raises your bid by the smallest legal step needed to keep you in front, and stops dead at your limit.
The clock protects you
Any bid in the final two minutes pushes the closing time out by another two. Sniping does not work here. The lot goes to whoever is genuinely willing to pay the most, not whoever clicks last.
Win, pay, collect
If you win above reserve we invoice you for the hammer price plus buyer's premium and VAT. Settle within 48 hours and collect from the branch holding the vehicle, or arrange delivery.
What proxy bidding actually costs you
Setting a high maximum does not mean paying it. You pay one increment above whatever the runner-up was prepared to go to — and nobody ever sees your ceiling.
| Step | Price |
|---|---|
| You set a maximum of R200 000 | R 100 000 |
| Another bidder bids R150 000 | R 150 500 |
| They stop. You win. | R 150 500 |
| You saved against your maximum | R 49 500 |
Fees and timing
Buyer's premium
10% of the hammer price, plus VAT at 15%. The full total is shown on every lot page before you bid — you never have to work it out yourself.
Payment
Settle within 48 hours of the hammer falling by EFT. Banking details are on your invoice, which reaches you within minutes of winning.
Collection
Collect from the branch holding the vehicle once payment clears, or arrange delivery anywhere in South Africa at cost.
Reserve prices
Most lots carry a reserve. We show how close the bidding is to it as a progress bar, but never the figure itself — that stays between us and the seller.
Come and see for yourself
Inspect any lot in person at the branch holding it. Bring a mechanic if you like — we would rather you bid knowing exactly what you are buying.
